ULuminate: A Conrad Spirit of Innovation Challenge Award Winner

ULuminate is a project developed by Alex Brufsky and Kriti Shah. It was a finalist winning project in the 2015 Conrad Spirit of Innovation Challenge, and competed at the 2015 Conrad Spirit of Innovation Summit at Kennedy Space Center.

Today, our world uses a lot of energy. We rely on fossil fuels as they account for 67% of all our energy sources. And we use over 125,000 tons of batteries every year in the US alone. With a growing population, our energy needs will only grow. So we have to look at other sources of energy.

ULuminate is a light-up jacket that is both battery-free and not connected to the electric grid. So how is this possible? Our solution is to harness HUMAN ENERGY and use it to generate electricity.
